Anti-Carbonic Anhydrase X antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Carbonic Anhydrase X antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CA10 gene, which encodes carbonic anhydrase 10. This protein is known to function in brain development, among other biological roles. The human version of Carbonic Anhydrase X has a canonical amino acid length of 328 residues and a protein mass of 37.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebellum, and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include carbonic anhydrase-related protein 10, CA-RP X, and CARP X.
