Anti-sPLA2-IID antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the sPLA2-IID antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLA2G2D gene, which encodes phospholipase A2 group IID. This protein is known to function in inflammatory response pathways and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of sPLA2-IID has a canonical amino acid length of 145 residues and a protein mass of 16.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein. Other names for this target antigen include PLA2IID, SPLASH, and sPLA2-IID.
