Anti-Lcn13 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Lcn13 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the OBP2A gene, which encodes odorant binding protein 2A. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and the sensory perception of smell, among other biological roles. The human version of Lcn13 has a canonical amino acid length of 170 residues and a protein mass of 19.3 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein. Lcn13 is a member of the Lipocalin protein family.
