Anti-POLGB antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The POLGB antigen is another term for the human protein DNA polymerase gamma 2, accessory subunit, encoded by the POLG2 gene. The protein is known to function in DNA replication and in utero embryonic development, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 485 residues and a mass of 54.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. Other alias names for POLGB include HP55, MTDPS16, and MTDPS16A. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for POLGB antibodies.
