Anti-Deoxyribonuclease I antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Deoxyribonuclease I antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DNASE1 gene, which encodes deoxyribonuclease 1. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of Deoxyribonuclease I has a canonical amino acid length of 282 residues and a protein mass of 31.4 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine, rectum, duodenum, colon, and appendix. Other names for this target antigen include DNL1, DRNI, and DNase I, lysosomal.
