Anti-ANGPTL3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein angiopoietin like 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 460 amino acid residues and a mass of 53.6 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is noted to be expressed principally in the liver. ANGPTL3 is known to act in part as a hepatokine that is involved in regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and protein cleavage. The ANGPTL3 gene has been associated with the disease, Hypobetalipoproteinemia. Synonyms for this target antigen include ANGPT5, ANL3, FHBL2, angiopoietin-related protein 3, angiopoietin 5, and ANG-5. ANGPTL3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ANGPTL3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
