Anti-VPREB3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein V-set pre-B cell surrogate light chain 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 123 amino acid residues and a mass of 13.7 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in B-cell precursors. A member of the Immunoglobulin protein superfamily, VPREB3 is reported to associate with the Ig-mu chain to form a molecular complex that is expressed on the surface of pre-B-cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include N27C7-2, pre-B lymphocyte protein 3, pre-B lymphocyte 3, pre-B lymphocyte gene 3, and 8HS20. VPREB3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some VPREB3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
