Anti-TPM3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tropomyosin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 285 amino acid residues and a mass of 33 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Tropomyosin protein family, TPM3 is known to bind to actin filaments in muscle and non-muscle cells. The TPM3 gene has been associated with the disease, Nemaline myopathy. Synonyms for this target antigen include CFTD, CMYP4A, CMYP4B, HEL-189, HEL-S-82p, NEM1, OK/SW-cl.5, and CAPM1. TPM3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of TPM3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
