Anti-NPY2R antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein neuropeptide Y receptor Y2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 381 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably expressed in amygdala, corpus callosum, hippocampus and subthalamic nucleus. A member of a the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family, NPY2R is a known receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include neuropeptide Y receptor type 2 and NPY-Y2 receptor.
