Anti-RASAL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAS protein activator like 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 804 amino acid residues and a mass of 90 kDa. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in thyroid and adrenal medulla, lower expression in the brain, spinal cord and trachea. RASAL1 is a suspected inhibitory regulator of the Ras-cyclic AMP pathway. Synonyms for this target antigen include rasGAP-activating-like protein 1, GAP1 like protein, ras GTPase-activating-like protein, and RASAL. RASAL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 80 citations in the literature describe the use of RASAL1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
