Anti-PEX26 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 26. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 305 amino acid residues and a mass of 33.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. It is a member of the Peroxin-26 protein family. The PEX26 gene has been associated with the disease, Peroxisome biogenesis disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include peroxin-26, peroxisome biogenesis disorder, complementation group 8, peroxisome biogenesis disorder, complementation group A, peroxisome biogenesis factor 26, and peroxisome assembly protein 26. PEX26 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PEX26 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
