Anti-Ubiquitin like modifier activating enzyme 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene UBA5 in humans. The gene may also be known as EIEE44, SCAR24, THIFP1, UBE1DC1, UBA5, ubiquitin-activating enzyme E1 homolog, and UFM1-activating enzyme. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 44.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
