Anti-Steroid 5 alpha-reductase 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SRD5A1 in humans. The gene may also be known as 3-oxo-5-alpha-steroid 4-dehydrogenase 1, and S5AR 1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 29.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
