Anti-ICAM5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein intercellular adhesion molecule 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 924 amino acid residues and a mass of 97.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is noted to be expressed on neurons in the most rostral segment of the mammalian brain, the telencephalon. A member of the ICAM protein family, it is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include TLN, intercellular adhesion molecule 5, telencephalin, telencephalin, and TLCN.
