Anti-Reticulon 3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the RTN3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1032 amino acid residues and a mass of 112.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and golgi. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 7 different isoforms for this protein. It is suspected to be involved in membrane trafficking in the early secretory pathway. Other names for this target antigen include ASYIP and HAP.
