Anti-RPS15A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ribosomal protein S15a. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 130 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Universal ribosomal protein uS8 protein family, RPS15A is a known component of the small ribosomal subunit. The RPS15A gene has been associated with the disease, Diamond-Blackfan anemia. Synonyms for this target antigen include S15a, uS8, 40S ribosomal protein S15a, small ribosomal subunit protein uS8, up-regulated by HBV X protein, and DBA20. RPS15A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some RPS15A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
