Anti-KNG1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein kininogen 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 644 amino acid residues and a mass of 72 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the urinary bladder, kidney, and endometrium. KNG1 is known to be involved with inflammatory response pathways and the regulation of apoptosis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include BK, HAE6, HK, HMWK, KNG, alpha-2-thiol proteinase inhibitor, bradykinin, and BDK. KNG1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of KNG1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
