Anti-CHCHD4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix domain containing 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 142 amino acid residues and a mass of 16 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in all tissues tested, suggesting an ubiquitous expression. CHCHD4 is reported to be a central component of a redox-sensitive mitochondrial intermembrane space import machinery which is required for the biogenesis of respiratory chain complexes. Synonyms for this target antigen include coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix domain-containing protein 4, translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 40 homolog, and mitochondrial intermembrane space import and assembly protein 40. CHCHD4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CHCHD4 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
