Anti-ATP5F1A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ATP synthase F1 subunit alpha. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 553 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the ATPase alpha/beta chains protein family, it is known to be involved with pathways of aging and the apoptotic pathway. Post-translational modifications have been described, including acetylation and glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ATP5A1, ATP5AL2, ATPM, COXPD22, HEL-S-123m, MC5DN4, MC5DN4A, and ATP5A.
