Anti-PDE12 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphodiesterase 12. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 609 amino acid residues and a mass of 67.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the CCR4/nocturin protein family, PDE12 is a reported enzyme that cleaves 2',5'-phosphodiester bond linking adenosines of the 5'-triphosphorylated oligoadenylates, triphosphorylated oligoadenylates referred as 2-5A modulates the 2-5A system. Synonyms for this target antigen include 2'-phosphodiesterase, mitochondrial deadenylase, and 2',5'-phosphodiesterase 12. PDE12 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the PDE12 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
