Anti-FCN3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ficolin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.9 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Ficolin lectin protein family, FCN3 is believed to function in innate immunity through activation of the lectin complement pathway. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HAKA1, H-ficolin, collagen/fibrinogen domain-containing lectin 3 p35, collagen/fibrinogen domain-containing protein 3, ficolin (collagen/fibrinogen domain containing) 3 (Hakata antigen), and FCNH. FCN3 gene orthologs have been reported in the bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of FCN3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
