Anti-CDH26 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cadherin 26. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 832 amino acid residues and a mass of 92.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is noted to be expressed by epithelial cells of gastrointestinal tissue. CDH26 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include cadherin-like 26, cadherin-like protein VR20, and cadherin-like protein 26. CDH26 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of CDH26 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
