Anti-CAPNS1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein calpain small subunit 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 268 amino acid residues and a mass of 28.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. CAPNS1 is a regulatory subunit of the calcium-regulated non-lysosomal thiol-protease which catalyzes limited proteolysis of substrates involved in cytoskeletal remodeling and signal transduction. Synonyms for this target antigen include CALPAIN4 and CANP. CAPNS1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species. A number of CAPNS1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
