Anti-IMP5 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IMP5 is a known alias name of the protein importin 5, encoded by the IPO5 gene in humans. This 1097-amino acid residue protein is reported to function in nuclear protein import as nuclear transport receptor. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, tonsil, and adipose tissue.
