Anti-PHF21A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PHD finger protein 21A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 680 amino acid residues and a mass of 74.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the brain. PHF21A is a known component of the BHC complex, a corepressor complex that represses transcription of neuron-specific genes in non-neuronal cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include BM-006, IDDBCS, NEDMS, BHC80a, BRAF35-HDAC complex protein BHC80, BRAF35/HDAC2 complex (80 kDa), and BHC80. PHF21A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PHF21A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
