Anti-MTFP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial fission process 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 166 amino acid residues and a mass of 18 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the MTFP1 protein family, MTFP1 is reported to be involved in mitochondrial division probably by regulating membrane fission. Synonyms for this target antigen include MTP18, mitochondrial fission process protein 1, mitochondrial 18 kDa protein, mitochondrial fission protein MTP18, mitochondrial protein 18 kDa, and HSPC242. MTFP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of MTFP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
