Anti-HBA1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hemoglobin subunit alpha 1. It is notably expressed in the bone marrow and spleen. Synonyms for this target antigen include HBA-T3, HBH, METHBA, hemoglobin subunit alpha, alpha globin chain, alpha one globin, alpha-2 globin chain, and ECYT7. HBA1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and chimpanzee species. Over 60 citations in the literature describe the use of HBA1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
