Anti-TMEM120A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 120A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 343 amino acid residues and a mass of 40.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in nociceptors. A member of the TMEM120 protein family, TMEM120A is known to be an ion channel involved in sensing mechanical pain. Synonyms for this target antigen include ion channel TACAN and transmembrane protein induced by tumor necrosis factor alpha. TMEM120A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMEM120A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
