Anti-NFKBI antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The NFKBI antigen is another term for the human protein NFKB inhibitor alpha, encoded by the NFKBIA gene. The protein is reported to inhibit the activity of dimeric NF-kappa-B/REL complexes by trapping REL dimers in the cytoplasm through masking of their nuclear localization signals. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 317 residues and a mass of 35.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The NFKBI protein is a member of the NF-kappa-B inhibitor protein family. Other alias names for NFKBI include EDAID2, IKBA, and MAD-3.
