Anti-Argininosuccinate synthase 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ASS1 in humans. The gene may also be known as Argininosuccinate synthetase 1, ASS, CTLN1, citrulline-aspartate ligase, and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 46.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
