Anti-TLC domain containing 3B antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TLCD3B gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 274 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and Golgi. It is notably expressed in the testis. It is known to be involved in ceramide synthesis. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Cone-rod dystrophy. Other names for this target antigen include TLC domain 3B, TLC domain ceramide synthase 3B, TLC domain-containing protein 3B, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, family with sequence similarity 57 member B, and ceramide synthase. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
