Anti-testis expressed 55 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TEX55 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 536 amino acid residues and a mass of 60.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. Other names for this target antigen include Testis-specific conserved, cAMP-dependent type II PK anchoring protein, uncharacterized protein C3orf30, and testis-specific expressed protein 55. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
