Anti-SLC16A10 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 16 member 10. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 515 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be highly expressed in the kidney and skeletal muscle and at lower level in the placenta and heart. It is a member of the Monocarboxylate porter (TC 2.A.1.13) protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include MCT 10, T-type amino acid transporter 1, aromatic amino acid transporter 1, and monocarboxylate transporter 10. SLC16A10 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
