Anti-chibby family member 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CBY2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 448 amino acid residues and a mass of 51.6 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. It is a member of the Chibby protein family. Other names for this target antigen include novel leucine zipper testicular protein, spermatid associated, spermatid flower-like structure protein, spermatid-associated protein, and protein chibby homolog 2. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
