Anti-interactor of HORMAD1 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the IHO1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 594 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the chromosomes. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is known to be required for DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) formation in unsynapsed regions during meiotic recombination. Other names for this target antigen include cancer/testis antigen 74, coiled-coil domain containing 36, coiled-coil domain-containing protein 36, and interactor of HORMAD1 protein 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
