Anti-unk zinc finger antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the UNK gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 810 amino acid residues and a mass of 88.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the Unkempt protein family, it is known to be involved with neuronal differentiation and in utero embryonic development. Other names for this target antigen include unk family zinc finger, unkempt family zinc finger, unkempt homolog, zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 5, and RING finger protein unkempt homolog. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
