Anti-hes related family bHLH transcription factor with YRPW motif like antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the HEYL gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 328 amino acid residues and a mass of 35.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the HEY protein family, it is reported to be a downstream effector of Notch signaling which may be required for cardiovascular development (By similarity). Other names for this target antigen include HEY3, HRT3, bHLHb33, hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif-like protein, HEY-like protein, and HESR3. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
