Anti-SEPTIN6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein septin 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 434 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Septin GTPase protein family, SEPTIN6 is known to be involved with cell differentiation and cilium assembly. SEPTIN6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
