Anti-FKBP prolyl isomerase 14 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FKBP14 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 211 amino acid residues and a mass of 24.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Other names for this target antigen include EDSKSCL2, FKBP22, IPBP12, peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase FKBP14, 22 kDa FK506-binding protein, and EDSKMH. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
