Anti-daf-19 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target daf-19 is a known alias name of the protein intraflagellar transport 88, encoded by the IFT88 gene in humans. This 824-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cilium assembly and kidney development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the heart, brain, liver, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle and pancreas.
