Anti-adss-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target adss-1 is a known alias name of the protein adenylosuccinate synthase 1, encoded by the ADSS1 gene in humans. This 457-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the purine nucleotide cycle (PNC), which interconverts IMP and AMP to regulate the nucleotide levels in various tissues, and which contributes to glycolysis and ammoniagenesis. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the skeletal muscle and heart, as well as in several hematopoietic cell lines and solid tumors.
