Anti-PRXL2C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxiredoxin like 2C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 226 amino acid residues and a mass of 24.9 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in gastric tissues. A member of the Peroxiredoxin-like PRXL2 protein family, PRXL2C is believed to regulate positively ERK1/2 signaling and AKT1 activation leading to HIF1A up-regulation with an increased expression of glycolysis genes and enhanced glycolysis. Synonyms for this target antigen include UPF0308 protein C9orf21, ahpC/TSA antioxidant enzyme domain-containing protein 1, thioredoxin-like protein AAED1, and AhpC/TSA antioxidant enzyme domain containing 1. PRXL2C gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
