Anti-BLIMP1 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene PRDM1, or 'PR/SET domain 1' in humans. The 825-amino acid protein is a member of the Class V-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and nuclear.
