Anti-protease, serine 22 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target protease, serine 22 is a known alias name of the protein serine protease 22, encoded by the PRSS22 gene in humans. This 317-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in proteolysis, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is noted to be expressed abundantly in the epithelial cells of the airways, including trachea, esophagus and fetal lung. Other synonyms for protease, serine 22 include brain-specific serine protease 4, prosemin, and protease, serine 22. Some protease, serine 22 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
