Anti-CYBC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cytochrome b-245 chaperone 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 187 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in macrophages, neutrophils and monocytes. A member of the CYBC1 protein family, CYBC1 is known to function as a chaperone necessary for a stable expression of the CYBA and CYBB subunits of the cytochrome b-245 heterodimer. The CYBC1 gene has been associated with the disease, Granulomatous disease. Synonyms for this target antigen include essential for reactive oxygen species protein and uncharacterized protein C17orf62. CYBC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the CYBC1 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
