TRP, or Tyrosinase-related protein 1, is a human gene encoded by TYRP1. It may also be known as: 5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid oxidase; Glycoprotein 75; Melanoma antigen gp751; DHICA oxidase; CAS2; CATB; GP75; OCA3; TYRP; b-PROTEIN. The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 537 and a mass of 60.7 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. TRP is a member of the Tyrosinase family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish, Frog, Chicken.
