Anti-MUC3A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mucin 3A, cell surface associated. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 3323 amino acid residues and a mass of 345.1 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include mucin-3A, intestinal mucin, mucin 3, intestinal, and MUC3. MUC3A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, bovine, zebrafish species. A number of MUC3A antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
