Anti-BICDL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein BICD family like cargo adaptor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 573 amino acid residues and a mass of 64.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the epididymis and kidney. A member of the BICDR protein family, BICDL1 is known to act as a adapter protein linking the dynein motor complex to various cargos and converts dynein from a non-processive to a highly processive motor in the presence of dynactin. Synonyms for this target antigen include BICD-related protein 1, bicaudal D-related protein 1, coiled-coil domain containing 64, coiled-coil domain-containing protein 64A, and BICD family-like cargo adapter 1. BICDL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some BICDL1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
