Anti-testis expressed 44 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TEX44 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 395 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the testis. Other names for this target antigen include testis-expressed protein 44 and uncharacterized protein C2orf57.
