Anti-DENR antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein density regulated re-initiation and release factor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 198 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.1 kDa. It is reported to be highly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle and moderately expressed in the brain, placenta, liver and pancreas. A member of a the DENR protein family, DENR is suspected to be involved in the translation of target mRNAs by scanning and recognition of the initiation codon. Synonyms for this target antigen include DRP1, SMAP-3, density-regulated protein, smooth muscle cell associated protein-3, and DRP.
